May has a long history with Little Company of Mary Hospital. Prior to becoming Executive Director, she volunteered at the hospital when her children were younger, working with new moms in the Baby Alumni program. She and the group of other young moms would take cards, magazines and gifts for the children at home to the “baby floor” and meet with new moms to sign up their baby in Little Company’s “Baby Alumni.”
Her husband, Ray, worked at the hospital in Physical Therapy. But her relationship with the hospital didn’t end there. May was in a serious car accident and was treated at Little Company of Mary, where she received compassionate care. After that experience, she decided to finish college and get into Hospital Administration.
As Executive Director of the Hospital’s Foundation, she oversaw philanthropy at the hospital, including “Values. Vision. Innovation,” the capital campaign to raise $12.5 million for the Campus Transformation Project.
May plans to spend more time with children and grandchildren, and with her husband, who retired two years ago.
A professional search already underway for her replacement.
