On Tuesday, July 14, 2015, the Surgical Leadership Team at Little Company of Mary Hospital (LCMH) was presented with the Outstanding Clinical Site award on behalf of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Each year, the University’s graduating class selects its top Outstanding Clinical Site from among 31 Clinical Sites at which students conduct the clinical component of their program and, this year, LCMH was selected to receive the award.
“I feel honored and blessed that LCMH has been named an Outstanding Clinical Site once again,” said David Roth, M.D., Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at LCMH. “The students brought so much enthusiasm to the Hospital each day. It truly was a pleasure to work with them.”
The students at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science selected Little Company of Mary for the Outstanding Clinical Site award for the following reasons: friendly and great staff; diversity in cases; encouragement of students to utilize independent skills; support and respect of student time and; willingness to teach and help students develop anesthetic skills.
“It is so much fun to be able to involve the students in a true teaching relationship,” said Dan Heenan, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at LCMH. “It personally brings me great joy to be able to give back and share my own knowledge and experience with these students- our future generation of anesthesia providers.”
