Little Company of Mary Hospital is looking for breast cancer survivors to participate in the new Patient Advocate Volunteer Program. Patient Advocate Volunteers are breast cancer survivors who are willing to help new breast cancer patients navigate through this difficult time in their lives.
The role of a Patient Advocate Volunteer includes helping the patient at appointments, being present during some treatments, and being there to hold hands, share stories, or lend a shoulder for support. Volunteers will be matched with a patient based on aspects such as age, stage of cancer, and treatment history.
If you, a family member, or a friend wants to give back and make a difference in the life of a new breast cancer patient, call the Comprehensive Breast Health Center at (708) 229-4050.
