Why did you decide to become a physician?
Ever since I was little, I always wanted to become a physician. I watched a close friend battle leukemia at a young age, which guided me to choose a profession where I would be able to help people suffering from medical ailments.
How did you choose your specialty?
When I was in medical school, I met a young woman, a mother of two, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Witnessing her and her family’s struggle, along with my childhood friend’s battle with leukemia, which impacted me and influenced my choice of medical specialty. It ultimately led to my decision to spend my career helping patients along their cancer journey.
What is your philosophy of care?
I do everything I can to help my patients receive not only the best available treatments but also to be done so with the utmost level of compassion. Cancer is a diagnosis that affects not only the patient, but the entire family. I believe in taking care of the patient and their family as a whole and as if they were my own family – walking alongside them throughout their journey.
What do you look forward to the most in working with the patients at LCM?
