Every month, we feature a physician as an opportunity for the community to learn more about the great doctors on staff at Little Company of Mary Hospital. This month, we had the chance to talk with Dr. Nimisha Patel, a Psychiatrist at Little Company of Mary Hospital (2800 W. 95th Street). Read on to get to know Dr. Patel, including what she would be doing if she weren’t a doctor.

What is your philosophy of care?
To treat patients how you would want your loved ones to be treated and knowing how to listen.
What do you enjoy most about being a physician?
Helping patients and their families get better when they are unwell.
What is the number one advice/tip you give your patients for healthy living?
Know when to ask for help, and take medications as prescribed.
If you hadn’t become a physician, what would you be doing?
This is a difficult question because I have wanted to be a physician since I was a young girl. But if it was not an option, I would probably be a preschool teacher.
