Beverly Breast Cancer Walk 2011 Video and Poem

On Sunday, May 8, 2011, thousands of people gathered to walk in support of the new Little Company of Mary Comprehensive Breast Health Center and Integrative Therapy program. This year was the 12th annual Beverly Breast Cancer Walk. More than $450,000 was raised. Thank you to everyone involved in the event.

Please enjoy the video, and let us know about your experience at the Beverly Breast Cancer Walk! If you would like to contribute, visit the walk website.

Also, enjoy this poem by Sergeant Charles Long about the walk:

A Morning In May
By Sergeant Charles Long

As the flowers blossom
Each year in May
They come out to walk
On Mother’s Day

Mothers and Fathers
Husbands and Wives
Sisters and Brothers
Friends….to remember the lives

The lives of the heroes
Those that have passed
From the illness of Breast Cancer
They assemble en masse

Let no one forget though
Of those that still fight
With courage and dignity
With honor and might

To beat this disease
They refuse to give in
As they hold their heads high
Determined to win

Remember the mission
As we gather this day
To support you with love
In God’s name we pray

I came to town for the walk to support my Sister Beth Dagenais, who just had her breast cancer surgery & she was going through chemo at the time of the walk. She did the full 3 miles +!
The weather could not have been better & the folks that live in the neighborhood were so wonderfully friendly & supportive of all of us.
I felt so proud to be a part of it & to get a great picture of my Sis in front of the Survivors stop here sign!

Thank you for hosting such a great benefit & prayers & best wishes to all suffering from this awful disease.
