As National Stroke Awareness Month Comes to an End, Remember that Knowledge is Power!

 Act F.A.S.T

F Facial Drooping: Ask the person to smile or show their teeth. Drooping on one side could mean a stroke

A Arm: Ask the person to raise their arms over their head. Weakness on one side may be a stroke

S Speech: If the person’s speech suddenly becomes garbled or unintelligible, this could be a stroke

T Time: Time is BRAIN. Call 9-1-1 and get the nearest stroke center immediately. Accessing proper care within 3-4 hours of the first sign of stroke saves brain tissue.
