October “Just for Women” Series—Join Us Monday Nights
Throughout October, Little Company of Mary will be offering the “Just for Women” series on Monday nights from 6 to 7PM. Come to one or all events, as the Little Company of Mary experts are sure to cover a topic that piques your interest. The range of topics includes depression, health and well-being, thyroid conditions and the seasons of a woman’s life.

October 4: Beat the Blues of Depression, presented by Gina Chmela, R.N., M.S.N.
Gina Chmela is a Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner. She has an extensive background and experience in psychiatric nursing and a commitment to promoting mental health in the community. She will be speaking to women of all ages about depression. Gina will dispel myths about depression and discuss indications of and management for depression.
October 11: Bloom Where You Are Planted, presented by Joan Murphy, R.N., Ph.D.
Joan Murphy is a Registered Nurse and Ph.D, and is director of the Women’s Wellness and Community Health Education Departments at Little Company of Mary Hospital. An award-winning motivational speaker, Murphy’s “Bloom Where You Are Planted” speech will be sure to uplift and encourage you to use a positive attitude to enjoy your life experience.
October 18: Women and Thyroid Conditions, presented by Constantina Tucker, D.O.
Born in Indiana and fluent in Greek, Dr. Tucker is a board certified family practitioner who completed her residency in family medicine at St. John Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Tucker encourages patients to take an active role in their health, and believes in comprehensive, family-centered health care, with an emphasis on health maintenence. Dr. Tucker will discuss the prevalence of thyroid disorders in women. You will learn signs and symptoms, what special screening tests can detect thyroid issues, and what to ask your physician about thyroid health.
October 25: Seasons of a Woman’s Life, presented by Pooja Doshi, M.D.
Dr. Pooja Doshi is an OB/GYN at Women’s Health Care Center and provides a comprehensive approach for all the stages of a woman’s life. Dr. Doshi will speak to women of all ages about health issues for women during childbearing years, perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause.
