On Wednesday, October 8th, over 100 individuals, including Beverly Breast Cancer Walk team captains, sponsors, community supporters, 19th ward Alderman Matthew O’Shea, 22nd District Sgt. Brian O’Connor, the Beverly Breast Cancer Walk committee and LCMH staff and Administration, gathered in Little Company of Mary Hospital’s Cancer Center. The “Believe You Make a Difference” reception acknowledged the past 15 years of success of the Beverly Breast Cancer Walk, raising over $4 million since its inception.
Tours were provided to showcase the newest addition to the Women’s Center for Life and Health, including the Beverly Breast Cancer Walk Mural entitled “We Are Family” that was created by artist César Santaló. The mural encompasses over 8,000 photos commemorating 15 years of our mission-driven and family-oriented walk.
The event also allowed guests the opportunity to see first-hand the outcome of their efforts which makes it possible for us to provide state-of-the-art treatment to our breast cancer patients, survivors and their families.
